       bincimap-updatecache

 

SYNOPSIS

       bincimap-updatecache <maildir>

DESCRIPTION

       bincimap-updatecache reads the messages available at <maildir> and re-
       generates the binc-cache file in this directory.

INVOCATION

       bincimap-updatecache is called by the owner of the <maildepot>.  Given
       the Maildir++ format, a <maildir> is either Maildir or one of the sub-
       directories indicated via a dot: .submaildir.  Instead of nested
       subdirectories, .submaildir ist just the first level <maildir>. Nesting
       is realized by concatination of <maildir> names with a dot.

       bincimap-updatecache generates the file bincimap-cache for only this
       sub-directory given by its path name:

         bincimap-updatecache Maildir/.maildirname

       bincimap-updatecache considers by default the Maildir++ format,
       including the new, cur, and tmp sub-directories.  In case the
       <maildepot> is given as IMAPdir bincimap-updatecache, requires the
       setting of DEPOT=IMAPdir as exported environment variable.
